Deep Thinking - Deep Listening

Unitarian Universalist minister John Morgan said that, People come into our communities looking for a place to belong (intimacy) and a place to seek meaning (ultimacy) about living and dying and the spaces between. Here at the UU Church of Sarasota we offer members and newcomers to this community an opportunity to participate in Chalice Groups as a way to deepen both belonging and meaning.

Each Chalice Group is composed of 8-10 members who meet twice a month to share their ideas and feelings regarding significant topics that the members have jointly selected.

A few examples of topics previously chosen by groups are:

The meetings are facilitated by trained facilitators, and members are asked to commit to eight meetings. At the conclusion of the eight gatherings, some members may decide to continue for another round of eight meetings and new members may be brought into the group. New groups will begin each February, June and October.
